It is officially release day for Alpha as well! Hitting theaters today (July 3, 2026), this is a massive release for Bollywood because it marks the first-ever female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe (the 7th installment in the franchise). Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha moves away from the romantic drama of Cocktail 2 and dives straight into high-octane, gritty espionage. **The Main Star Cast** • Alia Bhatt as Sita (Codename: Alpha) • Sharvari Wagh as a formidable fellow spy and ally • Bobby Deol as Fateh Singh Lakhawat (The main antagonist) • Anil Kapoor as Colonel Vikrant Kaul (Chief of R&AW) • Hrithik Roshan (Reprising his iconic role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal from War in an extended cameo appearance) **The Plot: Dismantling the Program** **1. The Disciples of Espionage** The story revolves around Sita (Alia Bhatt), a young woman who was raised and ruthlessly trained from childhood to become a top-tier secret agent and assassin. Her mentor and adoptive father figure is Fateh Singh Lakhawat (Bobby Deol). Sita grows up to be an elite, lethal asset for R&AW, working under the guidance of the agency chief, Colonel Vikrant Kaul (Anil Kapoor). **2. The Internal Rift** The core conflict ignites when Sita discovers that her adoptive father, Fateh Singh, has gone rogue. He is running a highly dangerous, illicit, and rogue soldier program behind the agency's back. This shatters their father-daughter bond, forcing Sita into an impossible position where she must choose between her personal loyalty and her duty to protect the country. **3. The Unlikely Alliance** To bring down Fateh Singh's network, Sita is forced into an alliance with another fierce, highly trained female operative (played by Sharvari Wagh). The two women are pushed to their absolute physical and emotional limits as they navigate a relentless series of confrontations across rugged terrains like Kashmir. **4. The Final Backup** When the mission reaches a critical breaking point and dismantling the rogue operation becomes near-impossible, Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan) enters the frame, stepping in to aid the two operatives in a massive, brutal final showdown against Bobby Deol's forces. *Production Note: The film carries a sleek U/A certification with a crisp runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes.* **Behind-the-Scenes & Production Technicals** • Story by Uday Chopra; Screenplay by Soumil Shukla and Shridhar Raghavan; Dialogues by Ishita Moitra • Director Shiv Rawail was handed the reins by Aditya Chopra following his critically acclaimed work on the Netflix global hit The Railway Men • Action choreographed by Craig Macrae and Sunil Rodrigues; both Alia Bhatt and Sharvari underwent three months of intensive physical prep • Songs by Rohansh and Abeer; Background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara **Budget & Economics** Production budget estimated at ₹100–110 crore
