About the Movie

Karuppu is a Tamil action-drama released on 15 May 2026, directed by RJ Balaji and produced under 2D Entertainment. The film blends mass entertainment with a strong social conscience, following a fearless lawyer who becomes the unlikely instrument of divine justice for the oppressed.

Starcast: Suriya leads the film as Saravanan, a passionate and uncompromising lawyer who becomes possessed by the folk deity Karuppusamy. Trisha Krishnan plays Preethi, a sharp-minded advocate whose convictions align with Saravanan's. Director RJ Balaji himself appears as Baby Kannan, balancing the film's emotional and comic registers. Veteran actor Prakash Raj delivers a powerful performance in a pivotal role, while Sshivada brings depth to her character.

The Plot & Characters: Saravanan is a firebrand lawyer known for championing the poor and marginalised. His life takes an extraordinary turn when he becomes the vessel of Karuppusamy, a revered folk deity worshipped across Tamil Nadu. With this divine possession comes immense power and a greater responsibility — to defeat the corrupt forces that prey on the vulnerable. Preethi, his fellow lawyer, becomes his closest ally as legal battles and supernatural confrontations unfold. Sai Abhyankkar's music underscores every emotional beat, from courtroom drama to high-octane action.

Karuppu is a compelling watch for fans of Tamil cinema who appreciate films that combine mass spectacle with a meaningful message about justice and community.
